Tom has over 15 years’ experience working in healthcare as a provider, supplier, and consultant. His introduction to the sector came in the medical device industry where he graduated from marketing through sales to sales management within hospital and commissioner settings. He has led the development of national surgical training and research programmes working with government, charities, clinical experts, and industry partners. His NHS experience comes from primary care, graduating from practice management to become the Chief Executive of a GP Federation, leading its structural and political development to shape local services and partnerships as well as driving industry collaboration. He has worked on nationally commissioned improvement projects in general practice and integrated care development and holds an MSc in Healthcare Leadership with the NHS Leadership Academy.
His experience has equipped him with skills in systems thinking, programme management, stakeholder engagement, and in depth understanding of the strategic and operational challenges of managing healthcare services and developing new models of care.
